I have rather “eclectic taste” in music. It’s always been that way.

For some reason I am usually drawn to music that is not uber popular.

Often times that can be frustrating because many of the albums and cd’s I have bought are by 1 cd or 2 cd wonders (they don’t qualify even as 1 hit wonders).

The other day I was thinking to my self how I wished that the excellent band Dada would be more like Incubus.

Not so much in the style of music, but rather in the way they marketed themselves.

You see Dada only has a few albums and have been dying at the mercy of the record labels that misunderstand them and let them die by lack of promotion.

Incubus on the other hand has always embraced their fan base and in my opinion has made records for them - not the record label execs. In fact what I love about Incubus is that they have not been afraid to release a lot of cd’s and videos. They have even released “official bootlegs” from several of their live shows in CD and video forms(proceeds go to charity). (read more…)
